Subsea cables

Subsea power cables are critical yet vulnerable aspects of any offshore project. Utilising a combination of geotechnical, geophysical, GIS and in-house modelling resources we are able to optimise and engineer the most challenging of cable routes.

Cables are a unique sector for Cathie in that it spans across the traditional offshore sectors of oil and gas and renewable energy and enables us to consolidate best practice across industries. The need for HVDC interconnection and energy trading between countries separated by seas and oceans has seen the development of an exciting new offshore industry, of which Cathie are at the forefront. Our work in this sector for major contractors and developers has stimulated innovation, with aspects such as thermal conductivity of soils being investigated in more detail.

Over 17,000 KM of subsea cable projects

At Cathie, we deliver geological, geospatial, geophysical and geotechnical engineering solutions for offshore and near-shore projects throughout the project lifecycle. Our innovative solutions enable cost effective project delivery by managing seabed risk and solving technical challenges.
