GIS SpecialistNewcastle Upon Tyne

We have an exciting opportunity for a GIS Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will work along-side experienced and knowledgeable GIS staff and some of the industry’s leading Project and Geotechnical Engineers to produce project deliverables for offshore energy projects.

Typical tasks will involve data processing, analysis, and management as well as the production of report figures, drawings, charts and electronic applications and datasets. The ideal candidate will have five years of experience working in the offshore sector, although less experienced but highly motivated candidates will also be considered.

This role is based in Newcastle, but we will consider applicants from other locations with suitable experience working in the offshore energy sector.

Main Responsibilities:

1.       Production of high quality figures, drawings, charts, electronic datasets and online applications as required for each project’s deliverables.

2.       Management of Corporate and Project databases and applications

3.       Manage operation of GIS equipment, software, data and products

4.       Cooperation with existing GIS staff and Cathie Engineers

5.       Cooperation with project stakeholders

6.       Cooperation with external suppliers and contractors

7.       Related duties assigned by direct reports and project leads and stakeholders

Minimum job requirements

  • 5 GCSE Grade A*- C including Maths and English
  • Degree in GIS related subject
  • High degree of competency with ARC GIS Software
