Stuart Papworth, Managing Director

As Managing Director of Cathie, Stuart leads Group strategy, business development and global operations. He is a member of the Cathie Board of Directors.

Stuart holds an MA (Cantab) in Natural Sciences from Cambridge University. He began his career as a geophysicist and went on to hold a broad range of managerial positions in operations, marketing, and business development across a 22-year span in the energy industry. Most of his career has involved development and commercialisation of new technology. He gained a wealth of international experience from assignments in Europe, Africa and the Middle East and further roles with a global remit. Stuart joined Cathie in early 2022, initially as Business Development Director.

Jerome Legendre, Belgium Engineering and Operations Manager

Jerome is a Civil Engineer and Naval Architect with 25+ years of experience as a engineering and package manager. Working on oil & gas deepwater field developments in West Africa and Brazil, overseeing multi-discipline teams on large EPCI contracts, he gained significant experience throughout the complete project life-cycle from conceptual studies through to detailed engineering design, procurement and fabrication support as well as offshore installation on construction vessels.

As the Brussels Engineering Manager,  he is leading a specialist team of Geotechnical Engineers and applying his expertise in the development of the cables and floating wind businesses.

Emilio Nicolini, Cathie France

Emilio Nicolini, France and Italy Engineering Manager

With a PhD in Geotechnical Engineering from the Technical University of Milan (Politecnico di Milano) in 1998, Emilio has considerable experience in geotechnics and foundations ranging from the onshore construction industry to the offshore oil & gas and renewable wind, and an advanced understanding of numerical modelling. Emilio is the Engineering Manager of our French and Italian operations and leads G-Octopus, a Cathie company, specialized in the organization, design and execution of static and dynamic pile testing, offshore and onshore.

Victor Terente Engineering Manager

Victor Terente, UK Engineering Manager

Victor is a Chartered Geologist and Chartered Engineer with over 25 years’ experience in a broad range of geological and geotechnical subjects including regeneration, mining, nuclear power, infrastructure, oil and gas and renewable energy projects (onshore and offshore). In the offshore sector, Victor has completed a number of high profile foundation design projects, has led multi-year and multi-vessel survey campaigns and has worked extensively in CBRA and burial assessment for subsea cables. Having specialized in engineering geology and geotechnics from the University of Newcastle, Victor leads the engineering teams in the UK.

Diane Baxter US Engineering Manager

Diane Baxter, US Engineering Manager

With a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Virginia Tech University, Diane is a specialist in Geotechnical Engineering. Her passion for the offshore wind industry has seen her working on several US offshore wind farms throughout her career and her broad experience covers everything from foundation recommendations and geotechnical site investigations to slope stability analysis and liquefaction analysis.

As the US Engineering Manager, Diane heads up our team in the US and is responsible for project delivery, building client relationships as well as business development and driving new initiatives in the US market.
